Ankole Opposition leaders fundraise for Museveni's retirement package

A group of Opposition leaders in Ankole has started collecting money for President Museveni's retirement package in 2021.

The opposition leaders say they decided to start collecting money to give Museveni a retirement package in appreciation for his good service to the country.

President Museveni, who is 73-years, is expected to retire once he clocks 75-years of age.

The group led by Mweteise Bintabara, the Kiruhura District Forum for Democratic Change-FDC party, told journalists at Freedom Gardens in Mbarara on Wednesday evening that it is time for Ugandans to witness a peaceful transition of power.

He explained that the people of Kiruhura have engaged the president on various occasions to prepare for a smooth transition but this has only remained a dream.
