Mao faults Museveni

The Democratic Party President Nobert Mao has faulted the head of state president Museveni for the failure to prevail over the implement the Juba peace agreement and protocol since this agreement was signed.

 Nobert Mao was speaking during the ninth Annual Juba memorial lecture under the theme “local memorie sand national Truth, implications for Transitional Justice in Uganda” held at parliament.

 He said that the president promised to ensure that the Juba peace agreement implemented with or without the signature of the LRA rebel leader Joseph Kony.

 Mao said that he will be forced to spearhead private members bill on the national and reconciliation as a measure to address the issues related to peaceful coexistence and human rights abuses in the country.

The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga promised to allow any member to champion the private members bill on national reconciliation if government delays to take up its role of tabling such legislation.
