Mobile money agents to organise for strike
Mobile money agents to meet today to determine a date to effect their strike
Members of the Kampala Mobile Money Dealers Association are today set to meet in a general assembly to determine a date to effect their strike.
The agents through their chairperson Matthias Lukyamuzi last week announced they would close down all their outlets for two weeks until government revises its decision on the 0.5% on mobile money.
Lukyamuzi says the strike which was supposed to begin yesterday was suspended to join in solidarity the Kyadondo East Legislator Robert Kyagulanyi who had staged another protest together with musicians to oppose this tax and the daily shs 200 levy on social media.
Lukyamuzi says all mobile money agents are expected to attend this meeting which will take place at their offices in Kibuye.
