Police cautions Mobile money dealers on planned demonstration
Police has cautioned Mobile money dealers under their umbrella body, Kampala Mobile Money dealers association against the planned demonstration on mobile money tax.
Addressing journalists at their offices, the association’s chairperson Matthias Lukyamuzi has announced the strike effective Wednesday 11th July 2018, where all dealers will lay down their tools until government scraps off the 0.5% levy on their businesses.
However the police spokesperson Emilian Kayima says it’s their right to demonstrate, but have to keep it peaceful.
He says beyond that they have to follow procedures and right to the IGP for clearance.
