NRM MPs to Storm Mbale Age Limit Hearing

The National Resistance Movement Members of Parliament who massively voted yes during age limit passing, have scheduled to storm Mbale on Tuesday next week.

Mbabule fm has exclusively learned that part of the 317 legislators who have been following the Constitutional Court hearing of the consolidated petitions against the contentious amendments on Television screens, have decided to physically register their presence like the opposition members.

The hearing of the petition at Mbale Chief Magistrate Court by a panel of five judges headed by Deputy Chief Justice, Alphonse Owing Dolo started on Monday this week and was on Friday adjourned to Tuesday next week.

The opposition figures including Forum for Democratic Change President, Patrick Amuriat, Leader of Opposition in Parliament Winnie Kiiza and others have been attending the proceedings since Monday, fully dressed in red which is the color against the age limit law.

According to sources, NRM MPs and Ministers are not happy mainly with the alleged “arrogance” of Justice Kenneth Kakuru against the two years extension of tenure of Parliament.

MPs that supported the amendment are also disheartened by a statement made by Owiny Dolo that legislators want more years to learn how to use a fork while eating and crossing the road.
