RPC Bakaleke Forced out of Office over Shs1.4bn S. Korean ‘Deal’
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Siraje Bakaleke has been ejected from his office to pave way for investigations into an extortion scandal, in which he is said to have connived with a city lawyer Paul Wanyoto to scam three South Koreans.
Bakaleke, who is the Regional Police Commander (RPC) for Kampala South Metropolitan area –reports indicate – was the mastermind of the operation in which three police officers obtain Shs1.4bn from the S. Koreans at gun point, who had gone to meet Wanyoto, a business partner at his officer on Acacia mall in Kamwokya, Kampala.
The three police officers have since been detained at Nalufenya in Jinja as investigations carry on.
The three officers are Isaac Muzanero, George Kayongo and Patrick Ochen, both working with Katwe Police Station, where the Koreans — Ha Dong Sua, Park Seunghoon and Jang Seungkwon.
In an exclusive interview with Mbabule fm, police spokesman SSP Emilian Kayima confirmed the forced leave of Bakaleke.
