State House Calls for Patience: Kayihura Mystery
State House Calls for Patience as Kayihura Mystery Deepens
The mystery sounding the fate of former IGP Gen Edward Kale Kayihura continued to intensify on Wednesday amid claims he had been arrested.
The reports were sparked by yesterday’s storming by Security forces of Court Yard and Sky Blue Hotels in Gen Kayihura’s country home district of Lyantonde, where he is reportedly a regular.
The Army and police refrained stringently from speaking out on this raid, adding fuel to the speculations.
With reports pouring in the General was being detained in Kampala, Mbabule fm later established today morning from a family member, that the former IGP was still a free man.
Hours after one of the major publications reported that the Kayihura had been ‘summoned’ by the military in Kampala in connection to murder charges, government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo came out tweeting that there was nothing wrong with UPDF summoning one of its own.
Meanwhile, President Yoweri Museveni’s Senior Press Secretary, Don Wanyama butted in, condemning the rushed spreading of the unsubstantiated reports of Kayihura’s arrest.
