Uganda Watchful as Gosh Returns as Sudan Intelligence Chief

Uganda is closely monitoring the situation in Sudan after President Omar Al Bashir returned a controversial intelligence chief who had supported rebel Lord’s Joseph Kony.

Abdallah Mohammed Saleh commonly known as Salah Gosh on Sunday replaced Mohammed Atta al-Moula, who had served as Director National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) since 2009.

It will be recalled that Gosh was instrumental in supporting several anti-Museveni forces including propping up the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).

During his reign as Chief of Defence Forces ((CDF), Gen Aronda Nyakairima publicly warned Sudan against resuming support for LRA.

But this development comes at a time when Bashir’s ties with President Museveni are at their best since both leaders took power.
