President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has commissioned the Kampala Marriott Hotel, reaffirming government’s commitment to transforming Uganda’s hospitality industry through increased investment and improved tourism infrastructure.
The commissioned 5-star Kampala Marriott hotel is a dual branded facility with Executive Apartment located at Nsambya in Kampala city with premium internationally branded accommodation and conference facilities established by Capital Shoppers hospitality group owned by businessman Ponsiano Ngabirano.
President Yoweri Museveni notes that such investments by local investors concretize the much-desired transition of Ugandan investors from importation and over reliance on foreign goods to domestic solutions as streamlined in government policies for import substitution in critical service sectors like hotels, hospitality and tourism with potential to tap into the international market
