Police in Bukomansimbi have arrested a woman, who is suspected of plotting to kill her husband, accusing him of getting another wife.

The suspect was identified as Nakirijja Kevina, 35, a resident of Kiteera village in Bigasa Sub-County in Bukomansimbi district, who allegedly conspired with one named Meddie, 40, to kill her husband Sozzi Swaib, 50.

Meddie who is believed to be a resident of Nateete in Kampala city has since gone into hiding.

Masaka police spokesperson Twaha Kasirye said police arrived at the scene arresting the woman to aid investigations.

“It’s alleged that Meddie came during day and hid in the nearby areas, and later entered the deceased’s home with the knowledge of Nakirijja, only to complete their plot at 2:00am. Meddie is said to have been paid Shs.300,000 for the job” he said.

Kasirye said police also recovered suspected weapons including a rope and a gun, which were found dumped in the toilet, and condemned similar acts.

“Following interrogations, our officers managed to get a rope and a panga which were hidden in the latrine. These are suspected to be the tools use for the murder. The hunt is on for Meddie and he will soon be apprehended.” SP Twaha added.

The body has been taken to Masaka Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem as investigations continue.
