Bushenyi, September 08, 2026, Traffic Police have confirmed 3 people dead & 10 others injured following a fatal crash involving vehicle UA 836AM, T/Hiace Drone, at Omukatagu along Ishaka–Kagamba Road in Bushenyi District.
The incident occurred at 4:40 PM on Monday, September 7, 2026.
According to a statement from Traffic Police Spokesperson Micheal Kananura, Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver failed to negotiate a corner due to excessive speed while transporting mourners from Kashaka, Mbarara, heading to Rwererere, Rukungiri, via Ishaka–Kagamba Road.
The injured victims were rushed to KIU Teaching Hospital & Kitagata Hospital for medical attention. Motorists are urged to observe speed limits, particularly when approaching corners & other high-risk sections of the road. Speeding reduces a driver’s ability to react & safely negotiate.
Investigations into the cause of the accident continue.
